An Evening at the SLS Hotel with Jason Castro, his mom and about 100 other folks.

My advice is always open your inbox because you never know when you'll get a message that will make your day (props to Dirty Harry). Thanks so much to the wondrous McLovin who generously invited me to see and hear Jason Castro at the modernly trippy SLS hotel. The show started at 6:30. So it being LA, I left 90 minutes early to take a 45 minute trip. The traffic was light and I looked for street parking. Since the BH cops love to give tickets, I opted for the valet parking. The hotel from start to end had a much more chill vibe than The Grove. I never once had to urge to punch anyone in the throat or tell them to shut the frack up.I met with some Copia friends and we went to the patio to hear Jason practice for his sound check. No Heavy Steadies this time, the stage was just Jason and his guitar-sublime. Now, the show-kick awesome He played with such passion and grace-
All Wrapped Up-new song
Love Uncompromised-I was mouthing the words
It's Alright With Me-sweet song about accepting your lover for who s/he is
Hallelujah-bee-uu-ti-ful
That's What I'm Here For -new song--pretty pretty
Let's Just Fall In Love Again-JC did the whistling all by himself. The song is such a toe tapper. Even the teen boy sitting in front of me was keeping the beat with his foot.

After the show, Jason was his usual incredibly patient self-smiling, posing for pictures, signing autographs, making strangers feel comfortable.

His mom Betsy was glowing with pride. She's such a great mom role model. When faced with a mom decision, I ask myself what would Betsy do since she's raised three outstanding kids.

Finally, I drove home with a grin and genuinely happy about the great support Atlantic Records is showing for Jason's career.

Missing soccer practice for the Jason Castro show at The Grove

My son Danny and I went to the Jason Castro Michelle Branc show at The Grove; we had a blast.

Getting there the traffic was awful but we got to the achy breaky incredibly fakey Grove @ 7.

I saw Taye Diggs and his pretty pregnant wife Idina Metzel get harassed by the paps.

On the grass, the girl next to me kept yelling for her friend and I said, Don't you kids have cell phones?" The show finally started finally, yes!

The audience was talking so I have them the death stare and told a few girls to be quiet. I would have told them to shut the F*** up but my kid was there and we were next to a baby.

Jason and The Heavy Steadies were awesome during their five song set. I sang along to the songs and the CBS news was filming.

After Jason rocked that stage, we left. On our way out, a guy said don't you want to see Michelle Branch? I said, Michelle who? He said sarcasm isn't attractive. I wanted to say choke on a dick. But my kid was there so I said well bless your heart and we laughed like loons.

We left the phony Grove and had some yummy food at the real L.A. Farmer's Market. Next we went back to watch Jason and the familia be as busy as bees.

I chatted with a few folks and got in line for our picture. The street team was great and everyone got a picture to get sign.

There were a Canadian mom and daughter in line in back of us. They were in LA for their summer annual vacation and had no idea who Jason was. The mom saw Adam Lambert in Wicked last year, lucky.

The bodyguard took a good smiling picture but my eyes were closed. On the good side, no crow's feet and now I know what I look like when I close my eyes. Dave the Lawyer is quite handsome in the background.

When I was leaving for the picture/autograph hug area,I heard the driver say, "This is taking forever. I've had enough of Castro time." He went to wait in the parking lot.

I chatted some more; everyone is so nice.

Last stop, The Cheesecake Factory for some desserts to go. The parking lot was jammed and I complained. My son said, But we have cheesecake. Godiva chocolate cheesecake does make things better and the Castros.

Yay! Project Runway is back! Hey Heidi!Hey Tim!

Project Runway is back, y'all. After the brouhaha with Bravo and Lifetime, the best reality show on TV is back tonight. I've been giddy like a little kiddy all day long.

I'm not one for fashion; my husband buys most of my clothes. Left to my own devices, I'll wear my clothes until they fall apart.

Project Runway is something different and special. The contestants are so talented and creative. Other reality shows are full of fake drama but the drama on Project Runway is real. And the talent is so amazing. Malan, Santino, Rami, Michael Knight, Laura Bennett, Kotu, LuAnn all so different but with incredible vision and style. One of finalists from last year threw a cat at her boyfriend during a fight. How delightfully weird is that? So welcome back Tim, Heidi, and guest judges. Make it work and carry on.
